Andrew Zhai

I'm working on RL for Composer at Cursor, trying to make the world's best coding model. Before that, I co-founded Alisa by Genova Labs, where we built multimodal creative agents. Earlier, I spent nine years at Pinterest as a Distinguished Engineer leading the research behind recommendations, visual search, personalization, generative AI, knowledge graphs, and ML infrastructure.

I studied CS at Stanford and Berkeley. I like working on systems that make people more creative, and on research that can become useful products.
